LOVE is the Language but HOW do YOU speak it?
Yip, we’re talking about LOVE Languages but that’s not all we’re discussing here because that would be BORING.
We’re also clueing you up on how to make sure you use them to WIN at relationships - with EVERYONE… including yourself.
Now we live in a world where knowledge is everywhere - literally at our fingertips so what are we doing with it?
The same goes for what we know about love languages. Knowing the way you give and receive love can hugely change how you Communicate with the people in your world.
I remember the first time I realised just how powerful this knowledge could be. I used to think my mother in law interfered ALL the time. We were newly married and she always wanted to come over and clean our home for us or do the laundry. I never understood why she would always want to do this. It mad me SO self conscious, I thought she definitely didn’t approve of the way I was doing things (even though my husband and I share things equally) I’ll admit chores were never my strong suit but every time she had been over I had spent hours trying to make everything look ‘perfect’ for her arrival. I was terrified and also frustrated by it all.
It wasn’t until a friend hold me about the love language test that I had a light bulb moment. I read up on the 5 love languages and remembered a conversation my mother in law and I had only a few weeks before, she had said, ‘ People like to be needed.’ At the time the statement seemed rather strange, after all I had been trained by my family to never need them.
After looking into love languages it seemed obvious that my mother in law’s love language was ACTS of service… She wanted to feel needed and show her love by helping us. It’s completely changed our relationship.
It’s all about what you DO with that insight.
Here’s where they can help:
If you want to find our what your love language is here is a great test you can take Love Language test
Remember in different seasons these can shift so if things seem different it might mean it’s time to re take the test and re-evaluate.
It’s important that if you’re doing this for your relationship that you and YOUR PARTNER do the test together so that you can both understand EACH OTHER and work as a TEAM on your relationship - after all it is a partnership and needs both of you.
SO how do you speak LOVE to the people around you? Will the knowledge of this change the way you see peoples actions around you.
